Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women Hosts Thought-Provoking Event - International Conference Explores Philosophical Dimensions of Seviyal Literature

 

The Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women with collaboration from Pasumai Kudi and Uyirmai Padhipagam arranged for an intriguing International Conference themed around “Thathuva Nokkil Seviyal Illakiyangal” (Seviyal Literature from a Philosophical Perspective). This Conference which was held at the College’s premises meant to investigate the deep-rooted philosophical aspects related to Seviyal Literature hence broadening the comprehension of participants drawn from different disciplines.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. K. Preetha, highlighting the significance of philosophical exploration within Tamil literature. D. Rajakumar, Assistant Professor at Ambedkar Government Arts College, delivered the keynote address, shedding light on the intricate interconnections between philosophy and Seviyal literature.

The first copy of the Conference Proceedings was unveiled by the well-known Tamil Poet Manushyaputhiran. In that address he talked about the philosophy principle that connects everything to everything else so well using very touching examples from Seviyal literature. The first copy of the Proceedings was given to the Managing Trustee and Correspondent, Thiru. L. Palamalai I.A.S (Retd.), representing the academic excellence of the conference.

The event was further adorned by the felicitations from Vice Principal Dr. P. J. Queency Asha Dhas and Mr. Narendren Kandhasamy, Founder of Pasumai Kudi, who emphasized the importance of integrating philosophical perspectives into contemporary discourse on literature.

Over 30 participants presented their meticulously researched papers, exploring various facets of Seviyal literature from diverse philosophical angles. The Department of Tamil at CTTE College for Women played a pivotal role in organizing this intellectually stimulating conference, fostering an atmosphere conducive to scholarly exchange and academic growth.
