Library plays a very critical role in supporting the academic programmes of the institute. It is located in the second floor of the main block, offering number of resources, programmes and services providing subject and general information. The library offers a wide range of books on subjects like Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, English Literature, Tamil, Hindi, French, Philosophy, Physical Education, and books for Competitive Exams, Soft Skills, Encyclopedia, General and Subjects Dictionaries, Atlas, Biographies and Auto-biographies, Yearbooks etc.
Library honour the five laws of Library Science firstly enunciated by Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. They are a) Books are for all b) Every reader his/her Book c) Every book its reader d) Save the time of the reader, and e) Library is a growing organism. Keeping in view of the five laws, the Library provides open access to its collection i.e the reader can browse the collection.
Apart from the Main library, departments maintain their own libraries.
CIVIL SERVICE SECTION:
Library has a separate section for CTTE IAS ACADEMY with more than 300 books on History, Public Administration, Sociology, Geography, Economics, Commerce, and General Studies and updated with latest syllabus of CSAT. In the Periodical section, there are 10 periodicals and 3 newspapers exclusively subscribed for the IAS Academy.
Library Entry and Services are restricted to only to members with valid Library membership card.
GENERAL RULES
· Members shall observe silence in the reading hall.
· Don't use cell phone in the Library.
· Members shall not write upon, damage or mark any book belonging to the library.
· Members shall not shelve books and periodicals as that disturb the prescribed order.
· Library borrower card is not transferable.
· The borrower card of a student will remain valid for the period mentioned on the borrower card.
· Members should report the loss of membership card issued, if any to Library Circulation Counter to avoid misuse.
· Members are responsible for any damage caused by them to the books or any other property belonging to the library and shall be required to pay the penalty imposed upon them by the Librarian
· Members shall not bring personal belongings (including Books and other printed material) and library books borrowed by them inside the library
· Members leaving the library should stop at the exit so that the material borrowed or taken out of the library by them can be checked

1. An over due charge of Rs. 1.00 per day per volume will be collected for returning the books after the due date borrowed by them.
2. The Loan period may be shortened by the librarian if the books are on special demand.
3. Books given for loan may be renewed for a further period provided no other reader has reserved the same.
4. A member can reserve a book which is on loan, with OPAC.
5. The Librarian reserves the right to recall any books from any member at any time. 6.Transfer of Books is not permissible

Books are issued to the students using Autolib Software. Bar code scanner is used to read the bar code labels of books.
LIBRARY MATERIAL - NOT FOR CIRCULATION
Reference Books, Special Collections, General Books, Reserve Books, Thesis & Dissertations, Loose issues & Bound volumes of periodicals.
· Loss of book by the borrower should be reported to the Circulation immediately to avoid fine.
· Further, the borrower shall either replace the book within 15 days or pay 3 times the cost of the book, if the book is in print, or 4 times the cost of the book, if it is out-of-print.
· If the book of a multi volume set is damaged or lost, the library member shall be liable to replace the whole set or pay 4 times the cost of the same.
· Users are advised to make use of this facility only to support their academic and research activities.
LIBRARY TIMINGS
- The library working hours are 8.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m. on all weekdays and
8.00 a.m.-1.30 p.m. on Saturdays.
- The library is closed on Sundays and all Public holidays.
The library uses the Dewey Decimal classification for assigning subject codes to books and also uses AUTOLIB Library Management Software. The online Public Acess Catalogue (OPAC) will list the stack of books available at the library. It will save a considerable amount of time of the user of the library. Library has been one of the active members of the UGC INFLIBNET N-LIST E-Resources Programme, Ahmadabad.
